Dr Hamed Kamali MBBS, MRCGP
GMC registration: 7083342
Dr Hamed Kamali is one of our reporting doctors with a special interest in men’s health and hormones, particularly testosterone replacement therapy (TRT).
Since graduating from Peninsula School of Medicine and Dentistry in 2010, Hamed has worked both as a GP and intensive care doctor and is part of the medical team at The Men’s Health Clinic. Hamed’s practice is based on his principles that lifestyle modification is central to health. He is passionate about preventative and lifestyle medicine and helping people to optimise their quality of life.
We asked Hamed about Medichecks and the future of health checks.
“Home health checks are becoming increasingly common. Given the huge pressures on the NHS, soon they’re likely to become an integral part of non-urgent healthcare. Medichecks is convenient, user-friendly, and makes an excellent screening tool for customers to prevent health problems rather than waiting for them to occur.
I was drawn to Medichecks because my healthcare philosophies match their approach, which is proactive, preventative, and lifestyle-focused. It's great to be able to work alongside like-minded colleagues and help people change their lives for the better.
“Outside of medicine, I enjoy playing the guitar and drums. I’m also into nutrition and exercise, particularly resistance training. I compete in powerlifting but also enjoy challenging myself for a good cause. In 2020, I raised £4,000 for Women’s Aid by riding a bike non-stop for 24 hours to increase awareness of domestic abuse, which peaked during the pandemic.
“This year, I have a half ironman coming up and an ultra ergathlon for charity, which includes a marathon row, a double marathon bike, and a marathon ski.”
