Dr Philip Veal has been part of the Medichecks team since 2018. Philip is one of our expert reporting doctors, giving feedback on customers’ results and practical advice to optimise their health.

Philip studied at Queen’s University Belfast and now practises as an out-of-hours GP and as a public health doctor, focussing on the control of infectious diseases, vaccinations, and risk assessment. He explains it was Medichecks’ focus on preventing illness, great reputation, and lovely team that drew him to the role.

“Home health checks will continue to evolve in the future. I believe there will be a wider uptake, a much greater use of point-of-care testing, and a better integration with wearable tech and phone apps. It’s exciting being part of a company that’s embracing this growing field, and I’m glad to be developing new skills and experience in digital health.

“With two young kids at home, I don’t end up with much spare time! When I do find a free moment, I enjoy reading, walks in the countryside, and I’m also involved in volunteer work with children and young people.”
