Our comprehensive range of health checks have been designed to give you a clear picture of your current state of health. Health checks provide you with the opportunity to identify any risks to your future health by detecting underlying diseases and medical conditions that would otherwise not reveal symptoms for some time.
You don't need to feel unwell or have symptoms to benefit from a thorough health check. Health checks are aimed at prevention by identifying problems early - before they present symptoms and when there is still time to take action. If caught early enough, many of the conditions we test for can be easily treated through lifestyle changes and/or medication. Our health checks are designed to give you the information you need to take control of your future health and wellbeing.
A regular health check will give you vital insight into what is "normal" for you over a wide range of different health markers and therefore help you and your doctor to identify any changes in the future that could be indicate underlying problems.
Health checks are not intended to replace a clinical examination if you feel unwell and should not be used to try to diagnose yourself if you are suffering from symptoms. While health checks can be reassuring, they do not test for all conditions and cannot guarantee that you are free from a disease or condition. As a monitoring tool over time, however, they can provide a valuable baseline assessment of your current status and future risk for some very common conditions.
It is not at all unusual to have some blood markers outside of the normal range. A normal range is calculated from the distribution of results obtained by testing a normal population and is usually set so that it covers 95% of that population. It is therefore completely normal for 5% of people to be outside of that range, yet still have normal results. Our doctors will advise you whether any out-of-range result is significant or not. We would normally advise repeating the test for any abnormal or unusual result.
