The prevalence of Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) in the UK has been slowly creeping up over the last decade, and across a range of age groups. The majority of our STI checks can be performed on samples (blood, urine or swab) that you can take in the privacy and comfort of your own home. All of our STI checks are 100% confidential, so you can be assured that your results will not be shared with anyone, including your GP, unless you request it.
Our range of sexual health screens are designed to provide for people that know they have been exposed to a particular STI, or simply want a full sexual health screen for their own peace of mind. By having a sexual health screen you can prevent future physical health problems for you and your parnter/s. Some STIs such as chlamydia can cause long-term problems such as infertility, however they are very easily treated meaning there is no reason to put off testing.
All of our Sexual Health tests are 100% confidential and will not go on your medical record. If you have had unprotected sex you could have picked up a Sexually Transmitted Infection; most STIs are becoming more prevalent. We recommned a confidential STI check if you or your partner has had unprotected sex with someone new, if you are planning to get pregnant or if you or your partner has any symptoms. Some STIs do not have any symptoms and can therefore remain undetected and passed on to other people. Most STIs are easily treated, especially if caught early.
Although some sexually transmitted diseases (like Chlamydia and even Gonorrhoea) have no symptoms and can go unnoticed in both men and women, others can cause unpleasant and irritating symptoms including:
Pain when pasing urine
Itching, burning in the genital area
Unusual discharge with offensive odour
Pain during intercourse
Pain in the pelvic region
Blisters, sores or lumps in the genital region
