Medichecks selected to join London’s leading SportTech incubator programme
• Medichecks is among 11 early-stage tech companies chosen to join London Sport’s Sport Tech Hub programme
• The programme will provide new and enhanced connections with physical activity and sport industry
15 AUGUST 2018
Medichecks has been selected to join London’s leading SportTech, FitTech and HealthTech incubator programme, Sport Tech Hub. The incubator, which is backed by London Sport and supported by PwC, Fieldfisher, London & Partners and Loughborough University London, works to support the development of physical activity and sport, and will see Medichecks work closely with London Sport and a range of physical activity stakeholders as part of broader efforts to align technology and physical activity strategies across the country.
The programme officially launches in September 2018 and culminates with a Demo Day in March 2019, which will see Medichecks pitch to investors and technology leaders from across London and the UK.
Alex Zurita, London Sport Technology Lead, said:
“We are delighted to welcome Medichecks to Sport Tech Hub and look forward to working with co-founder Helen Marsden and her team over the coming months. Technology is playing an increasingly prominent role in the future of physical activity and sport, and Medichecks offers an exciting vision of the potential for new innovation around the impact of physical activity on the lives of Londoners, and people across the nation.”
Helen Marsden said:
“ Sports and fitness blood tests are one of our fastest growing categories, as people look to their inner health to understand and then optimise their performance in the gym or on the sports field. We are very excited to be part of the SportTech incubator programme and look forward not only to developing products which give greater insights to the physically active, but also in encouraging the take-up of sport for those who have yet to embrace exercise”
